Details & Observations: Meeting on 26th Dec. at JNVRM

Dear  Alumni,

A  successful  alumni  meet  was  organised  on  26th  dec  at  jnv  madhubani  in  coordination   with  with  school  administration. In  total  9  alumni  attended  it  including  first  two  batches.

There were  free  interactions   with  students  and  teachers.

Our  inclination  towards  welfare  of  school  has  been  well  appreciated.

Books  approx. Rs 7 000,  was  donated   on  behalf  of  AAMNA. And  similar  help  will  be  done  in  future  on  regular  basis  if  students  too  show  positive  attitude,  as  was  said  by  us.

Career  needs  were  addressed.

I  personally  talked  to  few  students  and Principal  also.

After  whole  day  interaction  with  students,  and  long  conversation  with  Principal ( with me too)  and,  detail  anlysis  of  interpretation  of  alumni  who  attended  there , I  have  drawn  few  conclusions,  towards  which  I  would  like  to  draw  your  attention  also.

In  future  we  need  to  work  on  this.

1) poor  teacher – students  interaction :
— apathy  amongst  teachers  for  academics
— disrespect  of  teachers  by  students

2) very  low  academic  activities :
— students  are  just  maintaining  their  status  quo  in  school.
— drop  out  rate  after  10th  is  alarming. only 2boys and 13  boys  in 12th and  hardly  20  in  11th.
—  changed  exam  pattern  of  IIT  was  held  responsible  for  it  by  teachers  and  students.  But  study  pattern  and  commitment  from  students  are  lacking.  They  are  just  waiting  to  go  out , past  10th  for  a  coaching.

3)DISCIPLINE :
— total  crash  of  discipline  in  hostels  and  school  over  all.
— disobeying  is  common,  rather  a  rare  phenomenon.
— daily  walk-out  of  students  outside  campus ( guardians are promoting it, and administration has no control)  —  any  body  can  go  out  on  his  own

4) SPORTS : almost  nil sports  and  ground  activities.
It  is  rare  now  to  see  students  and / or teachers on  the  ground  Neither in PT time nor  in  evening.
Parents  and  students together  have   made  sports  futile  as  ” it  hampers  study !!!”  alas !!
cultural  participation  and  house  competition  has  become  infrequent.

So many  other  things  to  observe.

Good  thing  for  us —  teachers  are  taking  enthusiasm  in  our  participation.
Students  have  grown   up  feeling,  in  general,  that  alumni  would  guide  us  properly.  May  be,  if  interaction  and  esteem  improves  academics  would  improve  too.

Therefore  we  need  to  channelize  young  energies  into  some  interesting,  interactive  and  creative  activities.  few  alumni  has  given  me  ideas  of  forming  small  clubs  like  book  club,  literary  club,  sports  club,  nature  club  and  like  that.  It  may  inculcate  a  sense  of  responsibility  and  competitiveness.  thought  process  evolves  in  the  long  run.

I  am  looking  into  its  feasibility  in  coordination  with  some  active  alumni  who  are  running  such  clubs.  once  detail  programme  comes  to  me  I  shall  discuss  in  detail.

Till  then  I  would  invite  few  more  ideas  for  school  welfare.

Moreover,  guardians  do  need  proper  counseling.  I  appeal  to  all  alumni   to  start  counseling  on  individual  basis,  who so ever are  in  their  vicinity ( guardian ).

Discipline  should  start  flowing  from  guardians.  Frequent  visit  to  school,  providing  extra  eatables,  consumables  and  such  items  increases  discrimination.  this  has  to  be  discouraged  strongly.

Materials  provided  in  the  school  are  of  standard  quality  and,  in  many  sectors  it  is  better  than  older  days.  So,  there  is  no  point  in  allowing  guardians  to  provide  something  externally.

Older  batches  requires  frequent  visit  there,  I  feel.  Few  more  of  us  have  already  promised  me,  to  visit  within  2 – 3  months.

Thanx  for  patient  reading.
